Walshy's debut full-length, "few beers", is a mixed bag, marrying the nostalgia and bedroom aesthetics of teenage indie, dream-pop and hip-hop into his own distinct, colourful style.
Walshy made his initial mark in the music industry as one half of the hip-hop duo, Caleb & Walshy. However, since 2022, he has been making waves as a solo artist, consistently dropping singles that have been chosen as track of the week on RTE2fm, garnered support from renowned radio host Jyoty on RINSEfm and have been placed on Spotify's New Music Friday UK.
Walshy hosted his album launch night at The Workman's Cellar in August 2023, which quickly sold out. The evening served as a celebration of Walshy's entire solo discography and was filled with a collaborative spirit highlighting the sense of community that Walshy has fostered within the Irish music scene.
Walshy's work has received consistent airplay on RTE2FM, RINSE FM and BBC Introducing along with support from Wonderland, ChillDaBeats, NOTION, C-Heads, Hot Press, District, Nialler9 and Goldenplec.
"With an incredible ear for blending genres and an eye for detail, Walshy navigates the complexities of human emotions with surprising ease and authenticity." - C-Heads.
"There’s a real focus on celebrating the mundane in Walshy’s music" - NOTION.
"...with a blend of influences, ranging from Elliott Smith, Beach House, and Kanye West, the balmy, dazed new release is a coalescence of this rich musical consumption." - WONDERLAND.
